March Madness - Day (3)14

"It's PI day"
"Maddison said is mommy doing it."

(This was on a string of text messages I read after my fitness class.)

The picture attached showed daddy and daughter at the track having just finished running 3.14 miles.

Well, I guess they had just finished. The Garmin read 3.14 miles of work done but there was not much sweat. The daughter did not even look tired. Oh well.

The words were enough to get me moving.
(Even after I finished an hour long kickboxing class that includes conditioning.)

Am I doing this?
Where would I run?
But, it is about to get dark?
What goal time would I set?
Do I have music on my phone?

As always, a million thoughts running through my head.

Peer Pressure or Accountability?

I thought about that question as I ran. As each foot struck the pavement, I became increasingly more thankful for the accountability.

As I ran, I listened to this past Sunday morning's worship service at Rainfire Church. I was reminded that sometimes we get into our emotions and want to quit. We second guess our steps. We may begin to consider other options.

I was immediately reminded of Exodus 3:14 where God said to Moses, "I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I am has sent me to you.'"

See, there are times when we will be called to do something that we don't quite understand. Things that other people don't quite understand.

We will be called to some things, people, or situations that make us question our paths and our plans.

But....remember WHO sent you. As long as I AM sent you, you are right where you need to be. So follow through and DO NOT give up.

You may not fully see the promise right now, but it's Pi Day. It's about 3:14. Exodus 3:14.
Let me know what I AM has sent you to do. I will help you stay accountable.

  1. This one for me has been tricky since last night because other than my family I am not sure what he has sent me to do. I will say in typing this I have to say that is no small feet as there are so many different components to that statement. Uhhhhhggggg, I think LIFE has really gotten real (like shut up and Make-a-Move type real).

A Small Tear

I could barely see.  My eyes felt itchy and irritated.  I thought I was tired from a full day of work. Sitting at a computer. Taking meetings with clients. Staff meetings. All the work of a typical Friday. But the day was not over. I still had an hour left in my two and a half hour drive down the two-lane, tree surrounded road to Tallahassee.  I was rubbing my eyes and blinking so much to stop the itch. Nothing was working. Nothing was soothing me.  I drove in discomfort as long as I could......then I reached my breaking point.  When I arrived at a stopping point in my travels, I removed my contact lenses. Before I replaced the contacts with glasses, I took a look at the lenses.  If only I would have recognized the signs sooner.... The left lens had a tear.  Side note: The thing I have yet to grasp is how a contact lens that is inside the eye gets a tear without even being touched. If you can explain how this happens, feel free to drop the knowledge i
